Nagdeo: Living The Dream(s), 2013
This is Nagdeo's first album, containing 10 songs all chosen around the concept of living in the energy of free, Earth-based culture and consciousness. Ano has written about twelve albums worth of songs (who's lyrics are in the book The Dharma In Song). These songs were one's the band was playing live at the time and which created a cohesive message. The vision on the front cover of twelve different people sleeping and dreaming together and having each of their individual dreams woven together into a single collective dream, is directly inspired from the visionary novel, The Kin of Ata Are Waiting For You, by Dorothy Bryant. (We ask people to read this book when they take the immersion at GYG.)
Additionally the word Nagdeo is from the same novel. In the book it means “that which supports good dreaming." The album originally had twelve songs, but two of them were "parodies" of popular songs that Ano could not get legal permission to include on the album -- Cinder Roads (a re-visioning of Country Roads, by John Denver), and I Climbed The Coco (a re-visioning of I Shot The Sheriff, by Bob Marley). If you buy the album and ask Ano, he will send you these two songs digitally for free.
